VAN

Grief is something that we carry day in, and day out. It doesn’t have an expiration date, and it doesn’t discriminate. Death is often confusing, conflicting, and hard to digest; let alone understand. As an empath, I often put myself as much in another’s shoes as I can. I want to try and grasp what I would need if that situation were mine. What would I long for? I never knew the answer to that when it came to Van.

How do you comfort one of your dearest friends in a scenario that leaves you breathless, leaves you aching, something that completely rivets you where you stand? God knew, and God continued to show Himself through this family. God took what the enemy meant for evil, and used it for good. The loss of a child is something I cannot fathom. It is my worst fear. To bear witness to it happen to someone and a family you absolutely adore is gut-wrenching to put it mildly.

I have never seen God in such a way, as how He knitted Van’s story together. How He rewrote August for a family who had known such great loss, with such tremendous joy. He called Vanna by name before we knew of her existence. He has woven such a love story in Chelsey and her family. A love story of falling head over heels in faith. God finds us in our struggles. He meets us there, and tells us to come as we are. I’m so thankful for Him, The Williamsons, and Van. We love you buddy! Happy Valentines! We love because He first loved us. 🤍

In her own words….

“Yesterday I shared my story about Van, his loss, and my gain of a new faith. If my story reaches the ears and heart of one struggling man or woman then Gods work is done.

Van Williamson, my beautiful angel, introduced God to me in a way I’d never known Him. God is real, He’s powerful, He’s gentle, He’s loving, and He is there. No matter what your pain or life may look like, know that God will drop all the million things He’s doing and meet you in it. Thank you Bailey Sims Henry and Ashley Partridge Worthington for allowing me to tell my story about my littlest guy. Thank you for being a light for so many women when they walk through darkness. This podcast.. I could have talked for days, but it’s my story and I love it.”

God is good, even when it hurts.
